Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy ?

People think of hypnotherapy as being some sort of mind control, but this couldn’t be any further from the truth. Solution focused hypnotherapy is a mixture of  psychotherapy with an additional hypnotic trance session.

We all go into trance several times a day without even realising so trance is a very normal occurrence. You may have experienced carrying out a normal journey and get to your destination not remembering passing certain points: Also when you get involved in a book or a film and time passes without you realising, these are both a form of natural trance.

Trance is when the two sides of the brain come together and focus on the same thing. This gives you access to your subconscious which is tremendously effective in making beneficial changes.

Unlike other forms of Hypnotherapy, I do not delve into traumas. I basically get your mind to focus on the positive things in life and help you to create your desired future.

Solution focused Hypnotherapy is a collaboration between therapist and client.  You must want to make the changes to improve your situation. With your willingness to change it is a very effective therapy which can produce fantastic outcomes.

What is Psychotherapy ?

Psychotherapy is what’s known as a talking therapy.

I practice Solution focused psychotherapy which does not focus on the past. Instead, it helps you to concentrate on a preferred future.

It is designed to reduce anxiety and put your mind in a calm and peaceful position, which will enable you to focus on a positive and desirable future.

The main aspects of Solution focused psychotherapy are;

  • Acknowledging where you are currently
  • Identifying where you want to be
  • Helping you to make the necessary changes
  • Avoiding problem talk

Solution Focused Psychotherapy, does not involve analysing painful memories from the past. If you have experienced unpleasant events, we acknowledge they happened and help you get from where you are to where you want to be.

Analysing the past keeps your brain working from the original primitive side, which in turn encourages you to be negative. It is more beneficial if we acknowledge the past, explore the present and concentrate on your preferred future.
